Bagel and honey plusToasted Bagels

This combination can be enjoyed as a breakfast treat, for lunch or as a delicious snack.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Bagel
  • Cream cheese
  • Cherry, Apricot or Strawberry Honey Plus

PREPARATION: Cut bagel in half and lightly toast. Spread with a layer of cream cheese. Top generously with a layer of your favourite Honey Plus flavour (we’ve used apricot). Serve warm and enjoy.


SmoothieStrawberry Banana Smoothie

A delicious smoothie made with banana, strawberries, yoghurt and Honey Plus – a healthy indulgence!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 250ml (1 cup) of low fat milk
  • 1 banana
  • A handful of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ˝ cup of natural yoghurt
  • 1 Tbsp Strawberry Honey Plus
  • 4-5 ice cubes (if using fresh strawberries)

PREPARATION:

In a blender combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

A simple and delicious dessert treat.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 90g butter
  • 200g wine biscuits, crushed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 250g sour cream
  • 250g ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 200g fresh or tinned cherries
  • 1/2 cup Cherry Honey Plus

PREPARATION:

Melt butter and stir into biscuit crumbs. Press over base and up sides of a 23cm flan dish. Chill for 1-2 hours.

Combine eggs, lemon juice, cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese and castor sugar together. Blend until smooth (mixture will be quite runny). Pour over biscuit base.

Cook at 160° for one hour or until the cheesecake is set in the middle. Allow to cool slightly.

In a pot, add Cherry Honey Plus and fresh or tinned cherries, stones removed. Stir until Honey Plus has melted and cherries are warmed through. Pour over cheesecake and serve.

Strawberry Cream

Sweeten whipped cream with 1Tbsp of Strawberry Honey Plus and serve with a selection of fresh fruit for a simple yet tasty summer dessert.

Strawberry Cheesecake

To finish a plain cheesecake, spread a layer of Strawberry Honey Plus over the cheesecake once it has set. Decorate with fresh strawberries. Or create a marbled effect by drizzling the Honey Plus through the mixture before it sets and creating a pattern using a fork.

Strawberry Layer Cake

Spread a layer of Strawberry Honey Plus then a layer of cream in the middle of a gateau, cake or sponge – divine!

Tasty Glaze

Mix Cherry Honey Plus with soya sauce, red wine, chopped chillies and water and baste pork before roasting.

Gourmet Wafer Snacks

For a tasty snack idea spread ricotta cheese on Rutherford & Meyer Gourmet Wafers (available at most supermarkets) and top with a generous dollop of Cherry Honey Plus.

Cherry Brandied Sauce

Combine 50g Cherry Honey Plus, long curls of orange zest and juice of 1 orange and melt gently. Leave to cool, then add 5T of brandy. Leave sauce overnight to enhance flavours. Gently reheat and pour over steamed fruit pudding such as Christmas Pudding.

Easy marinade

Mix Apricot Honey Plus with soya sauce, ginger & garlic as a delicious marinade for chicken drum sticks or wings.

Green Tea with Honey Plus infusion

Prepare Green Tea as usual. Add 1 tsp of Apricot Honey Plus. Stir until dissolved. Vary the quantity of Honey Plus depending on the level of sweetness you desire.

Apple Pie with a twist

Sweeten an apple pie by drizzling Apricot Honey Plus (1-2 Tbsp) over the top of the apple filling before covering with pastry. This works just a well for a fruit crumble that needs sweetening.
